I haven't posted anything as you can see, for a LONG time. Anyway... I'm in Edmonton now, as you may or may not know, hopefully you do or you a goof. I've been here for just about a month now, actually over a month I believe. REGARDLESS, its way better working in battalion life rather then on course... its a actual day job, I love it. We have gone to the field once already for a week, all we did was shoot and dig trenches, woo! We got to play around with night vision though, not gonna complain about that one, it was fun. Pff, other then that, we got one more field-ex apparently before my July block leave, which is going to be at least 23 days, I'm trying to get grad off so I can come home early for it but I have not found out the answer to that one yet.

Anyway, I know my blog looks ugly(because my images got deleted from the interweb sniffle sniffle) and I never post on it, but I'm gonna try changing that soon, more then likely I'll stop posting about my life and just putting videos or something up.. I dunno whatever.

Bye bye for now!

Completed Battle School

Well ladies and gentlemen, I'm done. I Graduated my battle school today after 12 weeks of pure hell, sorry for not posting some war stories but I was neglecting my blog for quite some time now haha.

Regardless, I've now been "promoted" from an Untrained Private to a Trained Private as I am now a qualified riflemen in the Infantry. I was also badged into PPCLI into the 3rd Battalion, Bravo Company. I am extremely pumped for this, it means I'm going Airborne Infantry. Within the next year, probably less then that I'm giving a grace period :P I will be getting my parachutist course and will be qualified as a jumper meaning I get to jump out of perfectly safe airplanes for a career, woo!

Anyway I'm hoping for some time off or something eventually so I can go home and see everyone, I'll save the stories for then, bye for now.

I'm Still Alive!

Don't worry boys and girls I'm still here, I havnt been tooken hostage yet, for real anyway. Its our fourth weekend and we actually got limited freedom, we were able to go into the big town of Wainwright woot. Naturally the first place I went was McDonalds ;) Then I shopped at Wal Mart for a couple hours, thats about all I did, good time here in the army -_-

Anyway so that last two weeks have just flown by, what a bag drive it has been. I learned so much, I'm now a Machine Gunner for my section as well, I carry a C9 instead of a C7, HUA! We cleared mine fields, crawled through barbed wire and over walls, its been difficult but now I'm learnin the cool stuff. In the past couple weeks I have also fire off the 60mm Mortar, M203 Grenade Launcher, and the 84mm SRAAW which is an anti tank rocket launcher, that was incredibly fun let me tell ya. We played around with claymores on friday too, it was too cold so I didnt enjoy it too much, I'll leave them for the engineers.

But ya in the upcoming weeks we'll be house clearing, we're in the pool on monday for a swim test and were also learning assaults from boats, so that should all be interesting.

I'm alright though, only attained a few minor injuries over the weeks so its all good, half way done the course, less then 40 days until I can see you all again, I'm planning on going into Winnipeg possibly on easter weekend, so we'll see how that goes. Bye for now everyone, I'll try posting when I can ;)

Starting BIQ

Hey everyone, just letting you know this will probably be my last post for awhile as I'm starting my Basic Infantry Course, which is my QL3. This means once I'm done it, I'm off to Shilo, woo! I think theres something like 69 days until I graduate ;) I'm counting yes, can't wait until I'm back in Manitoba, its gonna be awesome!

Anyway, so I have been rotting on PAT Platoon for the past 2 weeks which is really bad for morale, you litterally wake up and sit there all day and do nothing. But I'm in my new shacks now so its good, we have a bunch of reservists coming in tonight and tomorrow so that should be interesting... And the schedule this week looks pretty interesting, Monday consists of PT in the morning, and our first test with the C7 right after that, haha yay! On Wed, Thur, Fri were on the range all day firing our brand new, never used before, C7A2's, so that should be fun. We also have a night shoot on Thur night, so yipee, its been awhile since I've fired a rifle.

But thats all I got for now folks, hopefully this course turns out half decently, looking forwards to talking to you soon. Apparently it should be start on February 5th and completed by April the 13th or around that time... so thats like 80 days remaining before I can see the shiny lights of Shilo, woo!

I don't really know what else to post at the moment... uh, other than thanks for everything during the holidays and I hope to see you all very soon again. Anyway so yah I'm home for holidays and its pretty cool. I got to see everyone that I havn't seen for so long, family, friends. It was overwhelming almost, just going uptown to the mall you see like 20 people and they all start conversations too you... but its awesome, missed being home. I really want to go back, but I really want to stay home and do nothing... play video games until 4am... chat with friends. But I know I have to go back and get the job done, finish my training and keep moving forward ;) Emotional speech eh? NOT.

So I hope everyone had a good Christmas, hope Santa was good to you, or whomever you beleive in, hope you didn't get TO crazy on New Years... coughjencough. Meh, who else calls me at 0430?? I got the two things I asked for this Christmas, which was cool, got some extra stuff as well which was even better, parents are too good to me :P

About New Years resolutions, I don't usually make them because I dont ever follow them, so my New Years resolution this year is not to make a resolution, follow me? I think I can finally keep that one! If you did make one you better follow through with it. I can however tell you plans/goals that I have been thinking of while being home. This is more for me to look back and remeber like 3 years down the road and go haha, fat chance that would happen. Anyway so far its, I want to finish my three year contract with the army, it may have to be longer because I want at least one tour, which would most likely be to Afghanistan. Now hopefully I don't have to sign another 3 year contract just to hit the tour, but if I do, oh well I suppose. Anyway after the 3 years I plan on taking a break and touring the world, hot spots I want to visit as of now are: parts of Europe, unsure at the moment where exactly, Japan, and Australia. After I blow all my cash touring I'll rejoin the military and finish my career there. THATS THE PLAN FOR NOW. At least I have one I guess

Anyway folks thats all for now, havn't given a half decent blog for quite awhile so heres a book for you all, have fun with that, nice seeing you all over the holidays and continue staying safe!

Oh my god havn't posted in forever!

Sorry everyone that I havn't been able to post for ever. I have had no access to a computer with internet ever since I left St. Jean and that was like a month ago so ya... Anyway I'm on my next course now, 3 weeks in now, I'm actually in West Edmonton Mall right now paying for some internet :P Course has been going good so far but I'm looking very much forwards to it being over, not because it sucks really bad but because I get to come home! My leave starts on December 19th and last for 35 days! I can't wait, although I don't think mom is going to let me leave the house during that time... but thats alright I suppose.

Anyway so much has been happening I don't even know what to post about, so I'm just going to have to talk to you all when I get home... miss you all, talk to you later.

Graduated BMQ!

Hey everyone sorry for not posting for a couple weeks now. I was a little preoccupied with grad just around the corner I wasn't sure what to write about. Anyway its done, all gone, adios! Off to Edmonton on Friday and my next base will be Wainwright, yay!

I guess I'll start with the last week of Farnham very briefly, wow, rough one, worst weather we have had while here and lack of sleep (2 and a half hours on average per night) without interruptions. It was a pretty straight forward week, nothing amazingly exciting but we did do some exercises of situations that can happen overseas, such as patrols, pulling back from sniper fire, controlling riots and making roadblocks etc... you know... nothing too exciting :P

Anyway into our last week was pretty stressful, but we graduated with 43 from the original 68 when I first arrived... not too bad I suppose.

I'm hoping to get some leave from Wainwright... may go back to The Pas and visit Winnipeg hopefully, if I can't get any I will be home for at least 2 weeks at christmas for sure, its nearly gauranteed that I will be getting that time off, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

Thanks for everyone who was keepin there hopes up for me through basic, I did it ;)

R0272E. It wasnt just fire and go, we got tested firing from 100meters and 200meters, our 200m shoot was in rain and fog, which sucked, but I passed them both. We also did a night shoot and I'm not sure that I hit the target even once, I'll find out when we get our score papers back, not sure if I want to though, it was pretty intense.

The next two days we worked on topography, which is mapping and using a compass etc. The first day we learned general basics about using the tools and the second day we put it to use. The platoon was split into groups and we were sent out into the forest with different points, givin a radio, map and compass. The points could be 300m or up to 800m apart, some times even over a kilometer. Anyway not to brag or anything, but my group finished 2 hours ahead of the second group, and the third group was an hour after that... so yah... we're good... :P

Our third day was just cleaning up our camp and we learnt some hand to hand combat with our rifles, which was pretty intense... and... could lead to extreme violence >=)

Anyway, keeping this one brief, next week were going to be working 20 hour days, with 4 hours of sleep max each day and the four hours can be spread out throughout the day, so like half hour here, fourty minutes there, etc. Its going to be bad. Were going to practice section attacks, sleep outdoors in our own forst we make, do patrols, we get to repell (spelling?) down a 30meter wall, and cross a river on a rope... thats some of the things they told me... should be interesting.

Anyway thats all for now so I hope you guys are all enjoying yourself, 3 weeks left here then we'll see what happens from there, miss you all, bye!

First Week of Farnham Coming!

First week of Farnham starts monday, its gonna be rough. Its Friday night now, we actually got a weekend off with no restrictions at all, finally! It's not any different for me considering I'm not travelling anywhere for the weekend, but its great for the guys that wanted to travel home to see family and such, we worked incredibly hard this week. Our instructors said we deserved it this week, we had so much testing, so much physical work, it was insane and we pulled it off completely, it was nice being complimented instead of bashed for once ;)

Still having fun here, time is flying, its nice now that our instructors have stopped being really harsh on us, we know what we have to do now and they know they put us in our place, they can actually joke around with us but they obviously don't go too far still haha.

As I said before we start Farnham on monday, its also the first time we get to finally fire our C7 rifles, ooohhh rah! That should be fun, its going to be pure hell but sooo much fun compared to what we been doin at base, everything we learnt finally gets put to work out in the field. Each day we will be going through differnet scenarios, such as getting dropped off in the middle of nowhere and having to navigate back with a compass, getting gassed at anytime during the day (real tear gas), being attacked by a bunch of "enemies" who are really Privates/Corporals acting, and the last scenario we will do is controlling a full out city style raid, it will be interesting. Theres just too much to explain through typing, I'll have to wait and find some stuff out myself, gotta save some stories for the bar too right? :)

Also in Farnham we get fireteam partners, which basically means your paired up with one person and you cant be more then an arms length away at any time. You sleep side by side, goto the washroom side by side, shave, side be side, you get the picture. Then theres 5 fireteams inside a section, and 4 sections inside our platoon, it goes on, but thats all we worry about for now.

Thats all for now though folks, I'll hopefully get you updated next weekend, I'm sleepin in the woods for the next week so I have no contact with anyone for awhile, it will be great. Miss you all still, I'm one step closer to grad, one step closer to seeing you all.

PS: My platoon is now the oldest platoon in the school.

PSPS: My fireteam partner is the most funny guy in the entire platoon, hes a newfie and half the time you cant understand a word hes saying cause of the accent, its hillarious. Something happened to him this week too and something in his ears are swollen so hes half deaf so I also have to use sign language or scream at him for the first little while in Farnham too, much fun, shall be interesting ;)

EDIT: For anyone interested my mailing adress is as follows, please no food or anything like that it will get me in trouble! Only letters/pictures, that sort of thing :)

C10 585 892
Pte Artibise JT
R0272E
C.F.L.R.S
Saint-Jean Garrison
PO Box 100 Stn Bureau-Chef
Richelain, Qc
J0J 1R0

Into week seven we go

Wow! Already going into week seven. For anyone who didn't already know, a few of the platoon really screwed up last week and everyone paid for it so we ended up losing our weekend and being confined to barracks, basically which means we couldnt leave our rooms for no reason at all, thus I didn't post on my blog. Anyway that was a pretty good wake up call for the rest of the platoon and we got our stuff done about 300 times better and got this weekend off, almost. Were still confined to base which means we just have to sleep here so we can still go out for the day and come back at night, which is alot better! It really felt good to have afew drinks let me tell you ;) I also went to the mall tonight and bought some new clothes and stuff, lots of money :( Oh well nothing else to spend it on.

Anyway starting Monday it will probably be the hardest week of the whole course and then it will just go downhill from there. We had our Platoon Commanders inspection this morning which is where our PL CMDR goes over EVERY inch of your cubicle looking for dust or any little thing sticking out, such as a button undone. In the inspection you can only get 6 errors, I thought I had for sure failed but I didn't so thats a good thing! Next week we have our drill test, and our weapons test, which I am fairly nervous about but I hope I do well, I plan on practicing quite a bit.

Tommorrow I might hit Montreal for the day but we will see how it goes. I have lots of new things that happened this week although my memory is fairly short at the moment, but I will try to tell as many as I can when I see you all in person! Only five more weeks to go, the last four will FLY by too so it will be good.

Anyway I miss you all, hope to talk to you soon, leave some comments I read them ALL!

Night.

First weekend off

Woo. Week Four is done now as well, and we got our first weekend off. We were allowed to do anything... well not anything, but lots of things we normally can't do, you get my drift. Theres lot of stuff to do on base as well, there gaming rooms, and computer rooms, you can rent out movies and watch them on big screen tv's, theres a theatre... its really nice when you just get to kick back. We're allowed to leave the base, so I travelled around St-Jean, didn't goto Montreal though, gonna save that for another weekend. As well as being able to leave lots of our restrictions were lifted for things we can do on base such as going to the bistro(bar), we can actually wear civilian clothing as well! Got my cell phone back too, but I get crappy service so I still can't text very well, its very on-off chances.

Anyway on Friday night we went to the bistro and it was the first time in a month that anyone had anything to drink, everyone was light weight it was funny, but awesome time... its really good for everyones morale because on Monday were toast, our staff knows we were going to have fun on the weekend so we'll have to pay it back :(

On Saturday we hit St-Jean, our instructors warned us of quite afew things before the weekend about what we should or shouldn't do. A lot of the people in this area don't appreciate military members and it was really awkward being free, everyone instantly knows that your military cause we always walk together, not to mention everyones head is shaved, but ya... its still better then being locked up on base. Saturday night we went to a couple clubs, it was kind of dead, but hey drinkin is drinkin :P

But anyway, new week startin tommorow, it should hopefully be a little more relaxed then the last few, but you never know what they will throw at us. Anyway thats all for now, so I'll keep in touch with you all, till next weekend, ta ta.

Week 3 over, finally.

Well, easily the hardest week so far, we had physical training every day of the week. Three of the days we ran at 0505 hours, you can't get out of bed until 0500 so that gives you 5 minutes to get up, get dressed and ready and run all the way across the base to form up and get ready to run. On Tuesday we ran 5km, did a ton of pushups/situps etc etc, I can't explain some of the exercises they make us do. On Wed we ran 8km, it was crazy, our instructors are nuts, were supposed to slowly build up stamina and then they made us run that without a break, the entire platoon has to stay in formation and if anyone starts falling behind the front ranks either have to get down on there face and do pushups until everyone catches up, or run in circles. Later that day we then ran the obstacle course, twice, ugh, you can imagine how much everyone was in pain later that night, and we still had to run the next day, and the next day... haha.

Anyway today was one of the more difficult physical days as well, 80minutes of PT which is pretty much straight running, with a medicine ball, which is one of those big heavy leather soccerball type things. We then had 80minutes of drill, which was none stop marching, once again I'll state that my intstructors are nuts, we never had a break during drill.

I am proudy wearing a number four on my chest, which symbolises that my platoon is going into week four, it goes up every week obviously. The staff have the power to not give you your numbers if they don't wish to, we have to deserve them and the platoon really pulled through this challenging week and we got our badge. It will get more difficult but nobody is quitting.

Tommorrow we leave for Ottawa to visit the War Museum and on Sunday we are visiting the Canadian Forces cemetary in Montreal, so we're busy all weekend, but everyone is pumped because we get to leave these freaking walls even if its only for a few hours.

I could talk on for hours but I have to go prepare my kit for tomorrows adventure, I still miss you all even though I don't think about you TOO much ;) No offense... got lots to do and have to keep my mind elsewhere, only 8 weeks to go right?

EDIT FROM SATURDAY;
Hey I got back from Ottawa a few hours ago, it is AMAZING there, we passed the parliment building on the way to the War Museum and wow, the architecture is so cool. We also drove through Montreal on the way there, its a really nice city too, I hope I get to actually tour them one of these days, so much more exciting then Winnipeg ;)

Anyway the museum was awesome, I got tons of pictures although I don't really know how I'm going to get them back home, I''ll find a way. As I said before we are going to the cemetary tomorrow so that should be a unique experience, I probably won't update tomorrow though. We got our schedule for the next week and it is going to be ROUGH. I'm sure I'll post next week about how harsh it was ;)

Ta ta for now.

Week Two DONE!

Hey everyone, week two is done and its still great. We got some time to relax tonight, Friday, so everyone is chillin and havin fun, lots of laughs. We got our asses worked off on yesterday though, 3 km run at 5am, 3km walk/run with our full combat and kit on, then we did the obstacle course right after that, which is humongous but so fun. Theres like a 25foot high net thing you have to climb then crawl about 25 meters on top of it, hanging onto the ropes, hard to explain but oh my gee. Today we did our swimming test, was easy for me, first one finished, so its all good.

Anyway thats all for now, keep the emails/comments coming, I'll comment, as for getting back to individual emails I will try but its hard. Miss you all, bye!

Hey!

Hey everyone. I finally figured out how to update my blog from the base. Let me tell you this life is so much different then anything I have ever done in my life. The work is so hard and you have to be so responsible, but when your with 60 other people in a platoon and you all work together its amazing. My second day here I got put in charge of the entire platoon! I was like what the hell! I was responsible for everyone, had to make sure they all filled out forms, everyone made deadlines, nobody new each other, it was crazy! Friday was the hardest day so far, we had our first inspection in the morning to make sure everything was clean, which mine was pretty well done but we all had to do 25 pushups on matter what. I was the first guy up and I didn't know we had to ask permisson to get up from the pushup position once we were done so the Sargeant made me do 25 more, count out loud and then ask if I could stand when finished. Later that day we had drill, ran around in full combat gear, more pushups, situps, a ton of other different workout things, its insanely diffictult but when your done it feels amazing. My platoon is finally getting to know one another and its so much fun when we hang out in our barracks, by the way our room is like 6 feet wide, thats with a bed fitting in there as well, so like 2 feet to walk around in.

Anyway I'm done writing for know, I have about 300 items I have to sew my name onto by monday, so I'll post later!

Leave comments or email me! You know what it is. Anyway theres this chick who acts a real badass on there and I start fantasizing about her cause shes good looking right?

Warren: That very night I had a dream I was dating her and then I woke up

Warren: And I was all pissed and emo for like half the morning, until I ate my eggs and hashbrown bacon McSausage sandwiches

Warren: Anyways those sandwiches were the best thing I ever tasted

Warren: My mother home grew those sausages in the garden

Warren: Thats it I guess

Justin: Thats very interesting warren, Im proud of you

Justin: Now how much @#$%ing weed have you been smoking

Warren: Sounded better in my head.

Justin: And what kind of booze were you drinking

Warren: Homeade brew

Justin: That explains quite a bit

Warren: ?

Warren: What the hell are you talking about

Justin: I would ask you the same question but Im rather afraid of what your going to tell me

Warren: Im talking about Taylor Hill, man, not Jill Taylor from home improvement

Warren: anyways in that dream, I dreamt I was eating sausages with her, like big ones, like 2 inches long

Warren: we had them set out on the table, like an obstacle course, we even put some in little cubby holes

Justin: What

Justin: the @#$%

Warren: Yea, it was a good dream that made my views of life change

Justin: thats good, what are those dreams called?

Warren: I havnt named them, Ill just call it Taylor Hill and the Sausage dream, but thats not the climax

Justin: did you prefer the sausage or taylor hill

Warren: When I woke up I had my breakfast and shit

Warren: my breakfast shit

Warren: I was at a friends house actually, and I seen a costume hiding behind the couch, so I put it on immediately.

Warren: I think it was used for a birthday or something Im not sure

Warren: hold on ill get you pictures

Warren: the cops said I should be doing better things with my time

Justin: too bad I cant see some pictures
I made it so I don't have to bother emailing people every day of every week while I'm away, by the way I will still mail you, but if your ever wondering what's up you can just check this... journal out because more then likely I will be posting more in here then I will be mailing people.

So yah I don't want this to be all icky about what I'm feeling and stuff, because really, nobody cares, not even me :)

But basically my room is being all packed up and I'm getting ready to leave within the next... 48ish hours so I'm kind of crammed for time, even though I did bring it upon myself. My life is going into boxes though.... wooo kind of different and such, but most of it stays home anyway since I am only taking a single suitcase with me to Basic Training, its a big one though!

Last night there was about 15-18 of us, we had dinner and it was awesome and GREATLY appreciated considering you guys said you did it for me, but I know your secrets! In case I didn't thank somebody for coming, thank you, it was really nice, I will remember it forever! Not quite, I have the worst memory ever, don't take it to heart though :).

Anyway this is long enough for now, I'm sure I will be posting within the next few days again, so you can continue reading then!

PS: You can comment if you wish at the bottom, I made it so anyone can comment but that could change if some things get out of hand, which immature people like to do.

EDIT.PS: Special thanks to Becca(Spinko) and Supriya(The Asian Sensation) for the awesome gifts I got, they couldnt have been better thanks so much. <3

EDITEDIT.PS: Another thanks to Seevers(B.A.) <-- doesn't want his name released, roar! Anyway thanks to him for hosting the images for the site, hes a cool cat but won't post a comment.
